Russia’s 2027 budget deficit to be set at around 2% of GDP — Finance Minister

MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. Russia’s federal budget for next year will include a deficit of around 2% of GDP, but it poses no risks, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said at the Moscow Financial Forum.
"Just a couple of months ago, we prepared a number of fiscal consolidation measures and drew up a budget with a deficit of around 2% of GDP, which does not pose any risks," the minister said.
It was reported earlier that, according to preliminary data from the Finance Ministry, the federal budget deficit totaled 5.79 trillion rubles ($68.91 bln) in January-August 2026, or 2.5% of GDP.
