Russian ombudswoman, papal envoy discuss return of Russian POWs

MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Russian human rights ombudswoman Yana Lantratova met with visiting papal envoy Cardinal Matteo Zuppi on Tuesday, as the two focused on the issue of returning Russian prisoners of war from Ukraine.
"I met with Pope Leo XIV’s Special Envoy for Ukrainian settlement and President of the Italian Episcopal Conference Cardinal Matteo Zuppi at the Human Right House. Our meeting focused on issues of the return of Russian soldiers from Ukrainian captivity. I briefed him about how exchanges are organized and how we build dialogue with the Ukrainian ombudsperson on this and other topics," Lantratova wrote on her channel on messaging app Max.
According to Lantratova, they also talked about the return of civilian detainees.
The cardinal expressed readiness to continue cooperation on humanitarian matters, she added.
