EU ready to discuss only ‘peace through strength’ in Ukraine — EU official

BRUSSELS, October 21. /TASS/. The European Union is ready to discuss Ukraine only through the ‘peace through strength’ formula, but fears that US President Donald Trump’s view on the matter differs from that of the EU, European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius told the Ukrinform news agency in an interview.

He claimed that, in the European Commission’s view, "the strategy of peace in Ukraine lies in implementing the ‘peace through strength’ formula," and this approach necessitates continued military deliveries to the Kiev government.

However, Kubilius urged "to keep the United States in mind."

In his view, Trump "also speaks about the ‘peace through strength’ formula, although, possibly, he may imbue it with a somewhat different meaning.".
