AI can replicate 99% of human functions with proper training — expert

An AI system can handle the vast majority of human tasks if it is developed into a production-ready, specialized product trained on up-to-date data, Valery Gorovoy, Director of Applied AI at Rabota.ru, said on the sidelines of the 100+ TechnoBuild International Construction Forum.
"Right now, AI is capable of performing 99% of the functions carried out by human intelligence. However, to achieve this, you need to train this 'intern' and turn them into a specialist by transferring your own expertise. <…> When an industry professional asks a question and spots flaws in [the neural network's] answers, they conclude that AI is not yet up to the task. But operational deployment requires full-scale product development, not just utilizing a base language model," Gorovoy said.
He explained that a standard neural network resembles an "erudite intern" – a specialist with immense potential but zero practical experience. To fully unlock its capabilities, the system must be specialized and tailored to specific tasks.
According to the expert, AI agents capable of compiling cost estimates and analyzing massive datasets are already commercially available.
In the future, a properly trained neural network could act as a sports referee, tracking and recording athletes' movements with greater precision and objectivity than any human, Gorovoy noted.
Furthermore, AI could make executive decisions if provided with sufficient data.
The 100+ TechnoBuild International Construction Forum runs in Yekaterinburg from September 29 to October 2, drawing 35,000 participants and experts from 23 countries. TASS is the official media partner for the event.
