Dutch businesses cutting ties with ICC for fear of US sanctions — diplomat

THE HAGUE, September 21. /TASS/. Dutch businesses have been shying away from cooperation with the International Criminal Court (ICC), fearing secondary US sanctions, a diplomatic source told TASS.
According to him, mostly IT companies are behind the move. As many as 28 companies addressed the Dutch government and parliament with a request to protect banking and digital services vital for the operations of the ICC in a letter recently, the diplomat said. In it, the authors asked the Netherlands to develop an "interdepartmental plan" to preserve ICC services amid the sanctions pressure, he said.
On September 20, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials and documents, that the Donald Trump administration is preparing sweeping sanctions against the ICC that would prohibit most financial transactions with it.
