ST. PETERSBURG, October 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Special Envoy of the US President, Steve Witkoff, noted at their meeting that the diesel deal clinched between the sides will help to stabilize global fuel markets, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov told reporters.

"It was stressed from both sides that the deal does not merely satisfy both American and Russian interests but will also facilitate stabilization of supply and demand on the international fuel market. The practical work has already started in this area, taking into account cancellation of a number of sanctions against Russian diesel by the US administration," Ushakov said.

Putin and Witkoff paid much attention to implementation of agreements on Russian diesel fuel supplies to international markets at their meeting, the Kremlin aide noted.

"Much attention was paid during the conversation to matters related to implementation of agreements on Russian diesel fuel supplies to American and international markets, as Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump agreed in their telephone talk on October 9," Ushakov said.

The White House exempted deliveries of Russian diesel fuel to international markets until April 7, 2027. The presidents of the two countries had a telephone conversation on October 9, with supplies of hydrocarbons discussed in its course.
