Russia’s Karmanov wins gold at 2026 European Boxing Championship in Sofia

SOFIA, September 24. /TASS/. Russian boxer Dmitry Karmanov won gold on Wednesday in men’s under-85 kg weight category defeating in the final bout Junior Tadah of France at the 2026 European Boxing Championship in Sofia.
The bronze medals went to Croatia’s Antonio Grabic and Michael Derouiche from Austria.
Boxers from Russia, who compete at the European Championship in Bulgaria under the national flag, are currently in the top of the overall medal standings with two gold, three silver and three bronze medals. They are followed by Ukraine (one gold, one silver and two bronze medals) and Turkey (1-0-5).
The 2026 European Boxing Championships runs from September 17 to 25 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
