Russian boxer wins gold in European boxing championship

SOFIA, September 25. /TASS/. Russian boxer Vyacheslav Rogozin won gold at the European Boxing Championships in Sofia.
In the final of the 55 kg weight category, he defeated England’s Abdul Burton. Earlier on Friday, Azalia Amineva won gold for the Russian team in the 65 kg category, while Lyudmila Vorontsova took silver in the 57 kg category.
Russia now has four gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
The European Championships will conclude on September 25. The tournament is held under the auspices of World Boxing, which previously announced that Russian athletes would be allowed to compete without restrictions.
