Russia-US new Summit Talks initiative not on agenda — US Secretary of State Rubio

NEW YORK, September 23. /TASS/. A proposal of holding a new round of bilateral talks between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump respectively, has not yet been discussed, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Wednesday.
"Obviously, the ideal would be a meeting in which there will be a result, an outcome and a lot of that means there has to be a lot of work that goes into it beforehand," Rubio stated following his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in New York at the UN General Assembly meeting.
The headquarters of the global organization in New York City is hosting the General Debate of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) with the participation of heads of state and government, as well as foreign ministers, on September 22-26 and September 28. The Russian delegation is led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
