TURKMENBASHI /Turkmenistan/, October 9. /TASS/. Russia will always stand for development and strengthening of interaction among the countries for preserving the ecosystem of the Caspian Region, President Vladimir Putin said at the Caspian Environmental Summit.
"Russia has always advocated, and will continue to stand for strengthning and developing cooperation among our nations to preserve the Caspian region's ecosystem, ensure its sustainable growth, and improve the quality of people's lives," the Russian leader said.
The rational use of water resources in the Caspian Sea is a significant avenue of cooperation among the Caspian nations, Putin stressed. Russia is committed to further working alongside all Caspian nations to reduce water losses, optimize water management practices, and upgrade irrigation systems and pumping stations, the head of state noted. Russian companies possess competencies across the entire water management value chain, from the design and construction of canals and water lines to the organization of industrial water recycling, digital water resource management, and satellite monitoring of the irrigation network and water loss zones.
"Large-scale efforts to preserve the Caspian ecosystem require not only financial presence and mechanisms among the countries, but also highly qualified personnel knowledgeable in a wide range of disciplines and natural sciences. Training such specialists is a highly pressing task," the president added.
