Putin thanks teachers who raised special military operation heroes

MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked the teachers who had raised their students to become heroes of the special military operation, while presenting state awards to teachers and mentors participating in the Time of Heroes program.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you, your colleagues, teachers and mentors from all regions of Russia. Together with you, we are proud of your students, as well as of everyone who is now defending the sovereignty, security and national interests of our country," he said.

Putin noted that the daily work of teachers, their attention, and honest and trusting conversations with students shaped their worldview, character, strength of spirit, and will to win.

"Of course, such work deserves respect and gratitude," the president added. "A teacher, a mentor does not just support children, impart knowledge, and help with studies; most importantly, they help children and teenagers grow into worthy people, find answers to important life questions, and gain a solid foundation of values. I emphasize that this cannot be taught using a template, even with a good textbook. The personality of the teacher is of great, sometimes decisive, importance.".
