Poland aims to become gas hub for Europe, minister says

MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. Poland seeks to become a hub for American liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Europe, Polish Minister of State Assets Wojciech Balczun told the RMF FM radio station.
"We envision this role for ourselves, and Poland must become a gas hub for Central and, to some extent, Southern Europe," Balczun said. He added that Warsaw is already holding talks with Greece, which "can control gas supplies to Europe from the south."
Polish President Karol Nawrocki made a similar statement at the Polish-American Economic Summit in New York. "Poland is ready to become an energy hub for all of Central and Eastern Europe together with our American partners," Nawrocki said.
The Polish leader had previously urged the heads of the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia to purchase US gas via Polish ports.
