Mediation efforts in Iran-US talks reach deadlock — TV

RABAT, October 7. /TASS/. Efforts by countries mediating talks between Iran and the United States to resolve the conflict have "reached a deadlock," Al Hadath reported, citing a senior US source.
According to the TV channel’s source, the United States "sent the Iranians a message stating that no progress [in bilateral talks] will be made until [the Islamic Republic’s] nuclear capabilities are curtailed."
The same source stated that "the Strait of Hormuz is no longer a priority for Washington" after Iran, in the US assessment, "lost control over it." The source added that Washington is now demanding that Tehran "admit that Iran will no longer develop its nuclear capabilities."
