President Donald Trump can’t avoid being protested at his rallies as he campaigns for Republicans ahead of November’s midterm elections — including in red-leaning Alaska.

Amid record-low approval ratings, Trump is attempting to fire up his base to vote for members of his party as if he were on the ballot, as he often tells them to do. But the president has faced resistance from a series of lone protesters who have interrupted his rallies in Texas, Ohio and now Alaska.

What is Trump’s savvy retort? “Your mom” jokes.

Shortly after Trump took the stage in Wasilla, Alaska, at around 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, a protester turned heads.

As the president was bashing his 2024 presidential opponent, former Vice President Kamala Harris, he stopped to call the demonstrator a “spoiled child.”

“Sounds like we have a spoiled child,” Trump said as his supporters booed at the protester and chanted “USA, USA, USA.”

As the protester, wearing a sweatshirt with a picture of a bald eagle carrying an American flag on it, was being escorted out, the president commended the “good law enforcement.”

“He’s now got the displeasure of going home to his mother and father, who both voted for me, by the way,” Trump said of the protester.

Alaskans have voted for the Republican presidential nominee since at least 1980, according to 270toWin. Trump won the vote with 51.3 percent support in 2016, 52.8 percent in 2020 and 54.5 percent in 2024.

Trump was in Youngstown, Ohio, last night, stumping for Sen. Jon Husted, who is running against former Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, and Vivek Ramaswamy, who ran against Trump for president in 2024 before endorsing him. Ramaswamy is running for governor in Ohio against Democrat Amy Acton, former director of the Ohio Department of Health.

During last night’s rally, Trump gushed about how attractive and athletic Husted, a college football star, was, telling a crowd of his supporters, “I looked at his a**, and I looked at the whole, and then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got these like claws.”

During one of two protests last night, Trump said the demonstrators “get paid by the lefties in order to destroy our country. They’re scum.”

He then taunted the demonstrator currently causing a commotion, saying, “He’s going back home to mom…He’s got to go on a diet. He’s a fat guy.”

“What he doesn’t know is that his mother and father voted for me,” the president added, using a similar insult that he used against a protester in San Antonio, Texas, last week.

A whopping 65 percent of Americans disapproved of Trump’s job as president, while just 32 percent approved in a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll. The Trump administration has been dogged by an unpopular war in Iran and stubborn inflation affecting Americans at the gas pump and grocery store.

While the party in power typically loses seats in the midterm elections, recent polling shows Democrats gaining ground in Senate races in states that Republicans would normally coast through.

Mary Peltola, a former Democratic congresswoman, is beating Republican Senator Dan Sullivan by 7 percentage points, 50 to 43 percent, according to a New York Times/Siena University poll of likely voters in Alaska released earlier this month.

Peltola led by a slimmer margin in a poll recently released by Alaska Survey Research. The Democrat was just two percentage points ahead of Sullivan, 47 to 45 percent, among Alaska’s likely voters.
