Zelensky complains US still restricts Starlink operations for Ukrainian military

MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. The US has still not lifted restrictions on the operation of the Starlink satellite communication system for the Ukrainian armed forces, Vladimir Zelensky said at a press conference in Brussels.
"The restrictions on Starlink's operations for the Ukrainian military have not been fully lifted," the UNIAN news agency quoted him as saying. "Internet speeds from SpaceX are gradually being restored, but not yet to their full capacity," the head of the Kiev regime noted.
Earlier, Sergey Beskrestnov, an advisor to Zelensky and an expert in communications and unmanned systems, reported that SpaceX had limited the operating speed of Starlink terminals for the Ukrainian military. According to him, this "disrupted a number of operations." On October 14, Zelensky said that shutting down Starlink was a mistake and asked SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to restore the service. On October 15, the RBC-Ukraine news agency reported, citing sources in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, that Starshield, SpaceX’s military and intelligence satellite program that uses Starlink infrastructure, had resumed full operation.
Earlier on October 16, Reuters reported that the White House had restricted the provision of communication services to the Ukrainian military. The Pentagon leadership received a message stating that the Starshield service for the Ukrainian military needed to be slowed down. The report did not specify who made this decision. A Washington administration official told the news agency that President Donald Trump did not issue such an order.
