Senior diplomat highlights dynamic cooperation in defense between Russia, Brunei

MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and Brunet in the fields of defense and security is developing dynamically, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said.

"Cooperation in defense and security has been traditionally developing at a dynamic pace. Over the past years, war ships of the Pacific Fleet have had a good tradition to call at the Bruneian port of Muara," the senior Russian diplomat said at a ceremony hosted by the Russian Foreign Ministry for opening an exhibition to mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Brunei Darussalam.

Also, mutual trade between the two countries has been on the rise, Rudenko noted as he said it was necessary to expand and diversify the structure of bilateral exports and imports. He described Brunei Darussalam as "a genuine island of stability and prosperity in today’s turbulent world." "Brunei is a significant member of ASEAN and our reliable partner in the Asia-Pacific and the broader international arena," the Russian deputy foreign minister added.
