How would you characterise the outcomes of the China-US summit compared to expectations going in? Is it largely a continuation of that track or do you see it moving the relationship a few steps forward?
The summit continued the pathway set in May and, in terms of specific deliverables, met the low expectations that observers had going in. Most notably, they agreed to extend the economic ceasefire on tariffs and export controls, but only for two months, to January 10, 2027.
