Russia’s agricultural exports to Uzbekistan surge nearly 1.5-fold in January-August

MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Russia increased its agricultural exports to Uzbekistan by 46% in volume and 36% in value terms during the first eight months of 2026, reaching approximately 930,000 tonnes worth $916 million, the Agroexport federal center reported on Tuesday.

"According to expert estimates, Russia supplied Uzbekistan with around 930,000 tonnes of agricultural products valued at $916 million between January and August 2026. Compared to the same period last year, exports grew by 46% in volume and 36% in value," the statement said.

The top five agricultural commodities exported during this period included sugar (293,000 tonnes), soybean cake and meal (211,000 tonnes), wheat (over 71,000 tonnes), non-alcoholic beverages (over 41,000 tonnes), and sunflower oil (over 31,500 tonnes).

Agroexport noted that Russia achieved record-high export figures for the January-August period in both volume and value terms. The growth was primarily driven by shipments of sugar, soybean cake, and meal.

The center added that Russia's annual agricultural exports to Uzbekistan have consistently exceeded $1 billion since 2024.
