NEW DELHI, October 1. /TASS/. Russian Urals crude oil accounted for 35% of India's total hydrocarbon imports in September, The Times of India reported, citing data from Kpler analytical firm.
Last month, Russia continued to rank first in Indian oil imports, which stood at 5.4 million barrels daily. This is the highest level of energy supplies to India since the outbreak of the US-Iran war in February, achieved due to improved logistics through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Kpler statistics, India received nearly 40% of its oil, over 60% of its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and 47% of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iran last month. In August, oil supplies from Middle Eastern countries averaged 25%. Deliveries of LPG and LNG stood at 29%.
An increase in imports from Oman and the UAE allowed India to reduce its costly LPG imports from the US to 16%, which had accounted for nearly one-third of such total deliveries to the country during the peak escalation of the Middle East conflict.
