Russian National Guard troops test new combat laser against UAVs in Leningrad Region

ST. PETERSBURG, September 28. /TASS/. Tests of the latest combat laser against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been held in the Leningrad Region, the press service of the Northwestern District of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia) troops reported.

"NBC protection troops of the National Guard’s Northwestern District assisted in the testing of the newest combat laser designed to neutralize unmanned aerial vehicles, which took place in the Leningrad Region. During the tests, Rosgvardia personnel, together with representatives of the military-industrial complex, used a mobile laser system mounted on an off-road vehicle to combat drones under simulated battlefield conditions," the press service said.

The National Guard personnel tested the laser’s tactical and technical characteristics and combat capabilities in destroying various models of unmanned aerial vehicles maneuvering at different distances, speeds, and altitudes. Based on the test results, recommendations will be made for further improving the techniques and methods of combat use of the laser system, the press service concluded.
