Russia, Vietnam to increase number of flights between countries

MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. Russia and Vietnam have signed a memorandum increasing the number of flights performed by air carriers to 105 per week for each side, the Russian Transport Ministry reported.

"According to the document, Russian and Vietnamese air carriers can operate 105 flights per week for each side. Russian airlines operate flights to Vietnam on 11 routes with a frequency of 39 flights per week now. On the Vietnamese side, flights are operated on 13 routes with a frequency of 31 flights per week," the report said.

Last year Russian airlines alone carried over 664,000 passengers between the two countries, the ministry noted. According to figures provided by the Vietnamese side, airlines from both countries carried more than 1 million passengers in the first seven months of this year. The total number of passengers carried may exceed 2 million by the end of the year, which is an all-time record in the history of air travel between Russia and Vietnam.
