MOSCOW, October 20. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu pledged assistance in ensuring security to Oman at a meeting in Moscow with Secretary-General of the Sultanate’s National Security Council Idris Al Kindi.

"Today, issues related to the protection of Oman’s territory are absolutely new. Security issues must be resolved promptly, and we will certainly try to help you there," Shoigu told the Omani general.

The top Russian security official stated that the two countries "have managed to make progress on a number of important issues, primarily in the field of military and military-technical cooperation, and in the broader security field." "Cooperation between the National Guard [of Russia] and the Royal Oman Police has been established," he added.

The visiting Omani delegation has quite a busy agenda in Russia, Shoigu revealed. "We are planning to present the leading Russian developments in the sphere of unmanned aerial vehicles to the Omani delegation which will also visit a major Russian strategic research institute," the Russian security official said.

At today’s meeting, Shoigu and Al Kindi signed a roadmap on deepening bilateral cooperation in security for 2026-2028. Among other things, the document covers specific steps to boost relations between Moscow and Muscat in military and military-technical cooperation, international information security, and interaction between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies and special services, Shoigu concluded.
