Riyadh-led coalition deploys 100 fighter jets in Yemen — spokesman

DOHA, October 5. /TASS/. The Saudi-led coalition has deployed 100 fighter jets to support the Yemeni army’s operation to regain control of the country, the alliance’s official spokesman, Major General Turki al-Maliki, stated.
"At dawn today, 100 fighter jets took part in Operation Dawn of Yemen," he wrote in a post on his X page.
According to the coalition spokesman, since the start of the offensive, the Saudi-led forces have destroyed 324 targets belonging to Yemen’s Houthi rebel movement Ansar Allah. He added that the air force is providing round-the-clock support to advancing Yemeni army ground units, as well as air cover over the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Earlier on Monday, Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, announced the launch of a military operation to liberate the capital, Sana’a, from the Houthis. Later, a Yemeni armed forces spokesman stated that control had been established over the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Dhubab area.
