MOSCOW, October 20. /TASS/. About 80% of the 220 categories of critical oil and gas equipment in Russia are in the final stages of research and development, undergoing testing, or already in serial production, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said.
Manturov and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting of the Coordinating Council for import substitution of oil and gas equipment under the government's import substitution commission in St. Petersburg.
"The council's paramount task is to replicate the successful experience of import substitution in oil and gas machinery manufacturing across a wide range of industries. To date, out of 220 critical equipment positions, around 80% are in the final stages of research and development, undergoing trials, or have already been mastered in mass production. Certainly, a significant amount of work lies ahead to bring all projects to commercial application. At the same time, we already possess engineering solutions and manufacturing competencies that are in high demand far beyond the oil and gas sector," Manturov said, cited by his secretariat.
Consolidation of the demand for cross-industry product lines will ensure production capacity utilization and lower the cost of Russian equipment, the first deputy prime minister added.
