TURKMENBASHI /Turkmenistan/, October 8. /TASS/. The presidents of Russia and Iran, Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian, have decided to meet a day ahead of schedule, because their scheduling allowed, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has told reporters.
"The presidents thought that, since they both have available time slots, [they should meet] right now to sit and talk without hurry," Peskov said, commenting on the decision.
The Russian leader arrived in Turkmenistan on a two-day working visit on Thursday. He will take part in the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and in the Caspian Environmental Summit, to be attended by leaders of all the five Caspian littoral states.
