Number of foreign mercenaries in Ukrainian army rises over past months — expert

LUGANSK, September 27. /TASS/. The number of foreign mercenaries in the ranks of the Ukrainian armed forces has increased over the past few months, driven primarily by an influx of Latin American and Polish nationals, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.

"The one thing I would like to highlight is that, indeed, an increase in the number of foreigners within the Ukrainian armed forces has been recorded over the last few months. These include Latin American citizens, and the number of Polish mercenaries has also risen slightly," he said.

Marochko noted that these mercenaries join units, formations, and military components of Ukrainian formations and sign contracts with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
