Moscow unaware of US attempts to unfreeze its assets in EU — Kremlin

MOSCOW, October 15. /TASS/. Moscow is unaware of any attempts by the United States, as described by the Financial Times, to unfreeze Russian assets in Europe by bringing them under its own control, and the credibility of the report remains unconfirmed, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a briefing.

"We know nothing about it," he said when asked about the matter. "According to media reports, these are issues on the agenda of the dialogue between the Americans and the Europeans."

"We do not know how reliable these reports are," the Kremlin spokesman added.

The Financial Times has claimed that the American side took the initiative during the talks in Miami, attempting in this way to facilitate a settlement in Ukraine. However, according to the newspaper, Washington’s negotiators were rebuffed by the EU side.
