Akie Abe, wife of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and Tomohiko Taniguchi, chairman of Nippon Kaigi, a right-wing organisation in Japan, met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale at the organisation’s office in New Delhi on October 8.

A communique issued by the RSS said the meeting focused on ways to strengthen India–Japan relations, with particular emphasis on civilisational ties, cultural cooperation and people-centric initiatives.
