Flydubai confirms cockpit brawl occurred in flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv

DOHA, September 30. /TASS/. Flydubai confirmed to TASS that a cockpit fight occurred on board a plane en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning, when crew members took control of the flight.

"An altercation occurred in the flight deck of flight FZ 1073, operating from Dubai International to Ben Gurion International Airport, on 30 September. The aircraft was successfully secured by on-duty Flydubai crew traveling on the flight, who diverted and landed the aircraft safely at Tabuk Airport," the airline said.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the Flydubai pilot who had stabbed the co-pilot during the flight was arrested in Saudi Arabia and is currently being questioned. The attacker evidently attempted "to crash the plane with all its passengers," the Israeli head of government noted.
