European technocracy’s reckless actions destroy peace — de Gaulle’s grandson

ST. PETERSBURG, September 25. /TASS/. European technocracy is destroying peace, as well as the soul and heritage of past generations through its reckless actions and excessive interference, Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of former French President General Charles de Gaulle (1959-1969), said.

Speaking at the 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum, de Gaulle, who heads the Foundation for Peace and Friendship Between Peoples, argued that a stable and just peace can be achieved "only when nations are strong and sovereign."

"European technocracy is destroying the soul and heritage of our ancestors," de Gaulle said.

He also called on European countries to "draw inspiration from the development dynamics of BRICS and the multipolar world."

"We must free ourselves from the dictating of international technocracy, which is destroying peace through its irresponsible actions," he stated.

The 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum is being held from September 24 to 26. The 2026 forum features 10 thematic sections bringing together Russian and international cultural figures, government officials, and members of the professional community.

The forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Government, the Russian Ministry of Culture, and the St. Petersburg city administration.
