Europe needs Russian energy to survive — envoy

MOSCOW, October 4. /TASS/. European countries need Russian energy to survive, Russian Presidential Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev said.

"Winter is coming. As predicted, stubborn ideological energy mistakes by the EU already have enormous consequences. Europe needs Russian energy to survive.," he wrote on X.

Dmitriev was commenting on an X post by popular US blogger and crypto entrepreneur Mario Nawfal about rising gas prices in Europe.

The RDIF chief said earlier that the approaching winter, which could be the worst for the European Union since 2022, would once again serve as a reminder of the consequences of abandoning Russian energy supplies.
