EU proposes under-13s social media ban

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen unveiled sweeping plans to protect children online, proposing to ban social media for anyone under-13 and require supervised accounts for those aged 13-15. The proposed EU Kids Act would also limit children’s daily social media use to one hour maximum.
