EU membership, support for Kiev prevent French people from living with dignity — Philippot

PARIS, October 3. /TASS/. Florian Philippot, leader of the French party The Patriots (Les Patriotes), believes that support for Ukraine and membership in the EU and NATO are preventing the French people from living with dignity.

"We need to leave the European Union, we need to leave NATO, we need to stop funding the war in Ukraine, and we need to cut military spending. We must restore a dignified life for the French people. Instead of channeling money into all of this, we should, for instance, allocate funds to lower taxes on gasoline. Because people can no longer cope; they have reached their limit," Philippot told a TASS correspondent during a demonstration against government policy organized by "The Patriots."

Philippot noted that the government "intends to target pensioners who receive more than 1,260 euros a month."

"That is, people who are certainly not wealthy. All of this is completely undignified, and 'The Patriots' oppose it," the politician pointed out.

According to him, "such a political choice is unbearable for the French people.".
