Digital ruble launch went in line with plan — Bank of Russia’s Chief

MOSCOW, September 23. /TASS/. The mass launch of the digital ruble on September 1, 2026, went according to plan, and Russia now possesses all components of a national payment infrastructure, Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The launch of the digital ruble went according to plan. This is an event we thoroughly prepared for; citizens and businesses now have a new, additional tool for payments and settlements. In essence, our country now possesses all components of a national payment infrastructure," the head of the regulator noted.
