Azerbaijani-Russian trade turnover down more than 1.3-fold in nine months

BAKU, October 19. /TASS/. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to $2.684 bln in January-September 2026, which is more than 1.3 times lower than in the same period last year, according to figures provided by the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
In January-September 2025, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $3.659 bln, which means it fell by 26.6%, or more than 1.3 times year-on-year.
Exports of Azerbaijani products to Russia equaled $883.587 mln in nine months of 2026 (up by 3.7%), while imports from Russia totaled $2.775 bln compared to $1.767 bln in the same period in 2025 (down by 36.3%), according to figures provided by the customs service.
Russia ranked fifth among Azerbaijan's trading partners in January-September after Italy, the UK, Turkey, and China, according to the report. The share of trade operations with Russia during this period accounted for 7.21% of the republic’s total foreign trade turnover.
In 2025, trade turnover between the two countries totaled $4.92 bln, an increase by 2.5% compared with the previous year.
