Vucic’s victory in polls ensures good ties with Russia

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. Aleksandar Vucic’s victory in the parliamentary elections in Serbia guarantees good relations with Russia, Perko Matovic, State Secretary of Serbia’s Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, said in an interview with TASS.

"The Serbian people see Russia as a centuries-old protector and ally, and the Russian people as a fraternal people. Everyday politics will never change this. Undoubtedly, the only absolute guarantee that this will remain the case is the unconditional victory of Aleksandar Vucic and the United Serbia list in the upcoming elections," he noted.

Early parliamentary elections in Serbia will be held on October 25. Vucic will head the list of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPP) and become its candidate for prime minister. The main opponent of the SPP will be the Student List alliance, led by the cardiologist from Novi Sad Ilija Srdanovic.
