MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Gazprom has accumulated an all-time high of 73.296 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas in Russia's underground storage facilities ahead of the upcoming winter, the state-run energy giant announced Wednesday.

"On October 8, the company 100% fulfilled its target for refilling underground gas storage facilities for the winter season," Gazprom said in a statement. "The operational gas reserve has reached 73.296 bcm, which marks an absolute historical record for the domestic gas industry."

The holding company emphasized that maintaining robust inventories in storage is a critical pillar for successfully navigating peak winter demand. In the event of a sudden cold snap, Gazprom is capable of rapidly ramping up deliveries to consumers.

Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller previously stated that Russian and Belarusian consumers can look forward to the upcoming winter with confidence, as the energy system is fully prepared to withstand the lowest temperatures.
