RIO DE JANEIRO, October 6. /TASS/. Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, who won the first round of the country’s presidential election, has secured the support of at least two eliminated right-wing candidates, CNN Brasil reported.

Former Goias Governor Ronaldo Caiado, who received 2.18% of the vote, or more than 2.6 million ballots, and finished fifth, has decided to endorse the senator despite previously saying that he would remain neutral for the rest of the race. Caiado is expected to formally announce his support for Bolsonaro on Wednesday, October 7. The senator will travel to Goiania, the capital of Goias, for a joint news conference with Caiado.

Bolsonaro is also expected to receive the backing of supporters of former Minas Gerais Governor Romeu Zema. The candidate from the right-wing Novo party received 0.27% of the vote, or more than 320,000 ballots, finishing sixth. Before the election, Zema publicly pledged to support any runoff opponent of incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Bolsonaro received 47.03% of the vote in the first round, while Lula secured 45.16%. The runoff will take place on October 25.
