Floods in central India claim over 80 lives

NEW DELHI, September 28. /TASS/. At least 81 people have died after heavy rain and flooding in the central Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the state’s emergency management agency told reporters.
At least 62 others were injured. Three days of torrential rain damaged more than 1,000 homes across several districts. Schools closed on Monday in affected areas, including the state capital, Lucknow.
Rescue teams are evacuating residents from flooded areas.
