Kenya’s runner wins Moscow Marathon

MOSCOW, September 27. /TASS/. Kenyan runner Micah Chemweno won the Moscow Marathon.
He completed the 42,195-meter (26.2-mile) course in two hours, ten minutes, and 36 seconds. Russia’s Dmitry Nedelin finished second in two hours, 11 minutes, and one second, while Kenya’s Michael Kirui came in third in two hours, 11 minutes, and 11 seconds.
Ethiopia’s Nurit Shimels took first place among the women with a time of two hours, 26 minutes, and 32 seconds. Russia’s Luiza Lega came in second with a time of two hours, 28 minutes, and 50 seconds, while Kenya’s Joy Kemuma Loyce finished third in two hours, 29 minutes, and five seconds.
The total prize fund for the Moscow Marathon, provided by the race organizers and including bonus payments, amounted to 11,570,000 rubles (nearly 137,173 dollars).
