YAKUTSK, September 26. /TASS/. An explosion occurred during welding operations at the backup pumping station at the Elga deposit in Yakutia, causing fatalities, the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reported on its Max channel.

"At the instruction of the republic’s Prosecutor Sergey Dyabkin, the Prosecutor’s Office of Neryungri is investigating an incident at the Elga coal deposit. According to preliminary information, an explosion occurred on September 26 during welding operations at the backup pumping station. There are fatalities as a result of the incident. The circumstances are being established," the report said.
