Lavrov discusses Ukraine, Middle East with Indian foreign minister

MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the Ukraine crisis and the situation in the Middle East with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Russian Foreign Ministry said following their meeting in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s high-level week.

The ministers "discussed key issues of Russian-Indian cooperation, the schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts and current regional and global issues, including the Ukraine crisis and the situation in the Middle East," the ministry said.

They also expressed their intention to continue strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership and maintain close coordination at the UN, within the G20 and BRICS, as well as at other international forums, it added.
