Russia-Namibia trade falls short of two countries’ potential — senator

MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. Trade between Russia and Namibia remains "quite modest" and falls short of the two countries’ potential, First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Elena Perminova said at a meeting with a Namibian delegation.
"As we can see, the potential of our countries is far from being fully realized. Russia-Namibia trade has been growing in recent years, but we believe that the current figure remains quite modest and does not reflect our actual capabilities," Perminova said.
She noted that an earlier meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission discussed moving toward the joint implementation of specific projects in a number of areas of mutual interest.
"These include uranium mining, energy, agriculture, transport infrastructure development, fisheries, and tourism," the senator said.
