Zaporozhye nuclear plant staff face daily threats while ensuring safety

MELITOPOL, October 21. /TASS/. The personnel of the Zaporozhye nuclear power station responsible for ensuring its safety are themselves exposed to daily pressure and danger from Ukrainian threats, which is unacceptable, Communications Director Yevgenia Yashina told TASS.

"Employees face pressure every day, work under constant danger and nevertheless continue to maintain the nuclear power plant’s safety. This situation cannot be considered acceptable and depends solely on the resilience and professionalism of the staff. Those who ensure the safety of the nuclear power plant must also be protected themselves," Yashina said.

On October 20, the plant said there was a Ukrainian drone attack targeting its bus. However, by that time, the vehicle had already transported employees to Energodar and was returning to the station empty. The bus was damaged, but no one was injured. Since the escalation of attacks began in April, ten nuclear scientists have already been killed and about 40 others wounded, the station said earlier.
