🗣️ Kenneth Branagh on the quiet power of ‘Atonement’

Por Reuters — Reuters

“Atonement,” the feature debut from writer-director Reed Van Dyk that had its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, is based on the true story of an Iraqi family and a former US Marine brought together nearly a decade after a deadly encounter during the Iraq War.

Kenneth Branagh stars as the journalist who helped arrange the meeting.

He said he was drawn to the story’s “quiet power” and its portrayal of people deeply affected by conflict coming together to face difficult truths.
