Finland imposes airspace restrictions of eastern part of Gulf of Finland

MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. Finnish air traffic services have imposed airspace restrictions over the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, within their zone of responsibility, an air traffic control source has told TASS.
"Flights below the altitude of 20 kilometers have been temporarily restricted in the airspace supervised by Finnish air traffic controllers over the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland," the source said.
He added that the restrictions are tentatively scheduled to remain in effect until 9:00 Moscow time (6:00 a.m. GMT). The source provided no reason for the measures.
Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) said earlier in the day that temporary restrictions on inbound and outbound air traffic have been imposed in St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo airport for security reasons. Besides, airspace restrictions introduced in some areas of the Leningrad Region have caused disruptions to flights to and from Russia’s Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad.
