Russian minister explains influence of attacks, external conditions on economic forecasts

MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. Russia’s socio-economic development forecast for 2026 and the period between 2027 and 2029 is moderately conservative despite the fact that external price conditions could turn out more favorable than expected, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said, adding that non-economic risks, including those related to drone attacks on facilities in the country, persist.
"All in all, the forecast remains moderately conservative. External price conditions could turn out better than we expect. At the same time, we understand that the risks posed by non-economic factors, including attacks on infrastructure and industrial facilities, persist. All this could lead to temporary deviations from the projected growth trajectory," he said at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes.
A balanced budget for the three-year period is expected to reduce inflation risks, stabilize interest rates, and ensure the revival of investment and fulfillment of social obligations, the minister added.
