WASHINGTON, October 10. /TASS/. Representatives of the United States, Ukraine, the "Eurotroika" (the United Kingdom, France and Germany), the European Commission and NATO discussed options for establishing a new security architecture between Russia and Europe in Miami on Friday, Reuters reported, citing sources.
According to the sources, the talks lasted six hours. Participants reportedly hope to reach a mutually acceptable settlement agreement in the coming weeks.
On Friday, US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff said on X that participants discussed a possible resolution of the Ukraine conflict before winter, as well as energy issues, security guarantees and Ukraine’s reconstruction, including in the context of its accession to the EU. "The exchange was productive and helped identify areas for further exploration ahead of the United States’ next engagement with Russia," he said.
Earlier, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that establishing a new European security architecture would require Europe to engage in dialogue with Russia, regardless of the European Union’s wishes.
