Iran enriches uranium to 60% for peaceful purposes, not violating NPT — Araghchi

NEW YORK, September 27. /TASS/. Iran’s enrichment of uranium to 60% is conducted exclusively for peaceful purposes and is fully consistent with Tehran’s obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with NBC News.

"Enriching [uranium] up to 60% in not illegal. It is still withing the framework of the NPT and our peaceful program," he said.
