TASS Director General opens OANA Executive Committee meeting in Moscow

MOSCOW, September 20. /TASS/. TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov called Moscow the "center of a common home" for members of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) as he opened the 58th meeting of its Executive Committee.

"Let me warmly welcome you to Moscow, a city that has become the center of our common home, our big family called OANA, this September," he said.

Kondrashov recalled that a media forum dedicated to the organization’s 65th anniversary will open on Monday. "Sixty-five years is an entire lifetime filled with meetings, joint projects, friendship and mutual support. And for TASS, it is a great honor and a real joy to celebrate this anniversary here in Moscow together," the agency’s director general said.

The OANA Executive Committee meeting is being held in Moscow as part of a media forum dedicated to the organization’s 65th anniversary. More than 60 participants from over 20 countries are attending.

OANA is the world’s largest regional media organization. It aims to ensure the direct and free exchange of news among news agencies in a region home to more than half of the world’s population. OANA currently comprises 41 news agencies from 33 countries. TASS is chairing the organization in 2025-2028.
